Prior to 2005, John obtained 12 years’ retail merchandising experience within corporate roles in the UK. He worked for leading brands including Debenhams, Burton Group, Adams Child wear and the Early Learning Centre.  

In 2005 John founded PlanIT Retail, a UK based retail consultancy which has attracted global branded clients particularly in Europe and the USA. Clients include Adidas, Nike, Puma, World Duty Free and the world’s second largest online retailer.  

He specialises in providing business process and design, system solutions and tools, system implementation and selection, merchandising tool development and implementation, retail space management, allocation and replenishment and Retail IT System training.  

John’s retailing experience combined with his technical/programing capability enables him to understand client’s needs and deliver effective targeted solutions quickly. He is able to operate at all levels from a strategic view down to the lowest level of detail.  

John turns information in to data that facilitates business decisions, creates retail tools needed from scratch and can implement, train and coach an organisation on business processes and the tools required to run them. Implementation usually has no or very little impact on IT. In most cases, he can build tools using standard BI reports as the historical base using Excel, which can easily link in to internal information sources.
